About two weeks ago I went out with Isaac and we spent an hour or so cruising around downtown San Jose looking for places  to have him photographed at.  We found a fantastic spot out there and made good use of our time.  We will probably doing a second set since due to time constraints we had to head home early.

When the idea of us getting together for a portrait session the location was pretty easy for me to pick out.  We headed out to downtown San Jose to a location I’ve photographed at before to try out some new ideas as well as getting some specific photographs.  After we photographed there for a little while, we cruised around the outskirts of downtown looking for some other locations.  We found another great one across from and at the Shark tank (HP Pavilion, officially).

It was a fun night being at prom. It was a little weird though being at the dance, yet I wasn’t dancing there. So I hung out in my little photo room with my laptop playing some tunes while I edited photos and also waited for the kids to come in to get their photo taken. Amazingly some people recognized my “ancient” music from the mid 90s – early 2000s.  So for those of you who made comments about it, thanks for making me feel young!

Also during the dance I made sure to have my friend send me text updates with the score of the Sharks game (which they won, advancing to the next round!).

So early in the night someone mentioned doing the old farmers pose holding the pitchforks, or swinging a baseball bat for a funny photo. I mentioned the only thing I had in my car that was close was some hockey sticks. And so I think I may be the first person to ever include hockey sticks in prom photos!  Semi-random photos chosen for the blog by what my tired eyes liked at midnight Saturday night.

I’ve known Arias parents since we were in 7th grade.  So its been really fun to see how life has changed for all of us.  We did the newborn photo session at their condo when she was about 2 weeks old.  We had fun getting some images for the few minutes she was sleeping, then some extra images while she was awake.  We had a few ideas that sounded great on paper, but in reality were tough to pull off.  Luckily she didn’t spit up on us during the photo shoot, well at least nothing that bad.

We are looking for 3-4 Juniors to be our Senior Spokespeople.  We are looking for outgoing/fun loving people who are willing to do some work for us.  What will happen is if you are chosen to be one of our spokespeople, you will receive

• A free 1-2 hour portrait session, at locations of your choosing

So here is the cool part – For each person that uses your coupon, you will receive $20 in credit with Scott Mosher Photography that is good either future sessions or products sold by Scott Mosher Photography.  So if you are picked, and five of your friends use your coupon, you now have $100 worth of credit you can put towards a portrait session with your family, or you can get a group of friends together and have some images taken!  You could also use that $100 to purchase prints from your senior session.

I was asked to photograph the Zion Youth Choir to get images for their upcoming CD of inspirational music.  The choir was started 14 years ago by Christie Williams.  This year the choir is conducted by Blake Williams.  They are a choir composed of high school juniors and seniors.  Its really cool to see this group still going strong, as I remember having friends sing in this choir when I was in high school (10 years ago!).

I was asked to photograph them as a group, in sections, as well as get some “behind the scenes” images of them while we were setting up.  They are a fun group to photograph, and a fun group to be around.  Big thanks to Steve for coming out & assisting me with lighting & getting some extra shots for me.

The fine print & other details:

• All packages won in drawing will expire on July 30, 2010 unless otherwise noted (see below).
• How winners will be chosen: I will save all stories on my computer & change the name of who submitted it to numbers. I will then show the stories to some friends and have them pick their top two favorites.  The top two stories with the most votes will win, and the winner will be contacted via email.

My wife decided she was going to give her old prom dresses to the Princess Project, and she wanted some photos done of her in the dresses before we shipped them off.  We headed to downtown San Jose to a couple spots that I know of and got some photos of her.  This is going to be part one, as we plan on doing a few more sessions with some of her other dresses.

Its been off & on raining and cloudy the past few days, and we weren’t too sure what the weather was going to be when we scheduled the session.   Turns out the weather was fantastic and perfect.  We spent about an hour and a half at the park going to various areas for the portraits.

I had the opportunity a couple weeks ago to have a quick Lifesytle portrait session with Mozart. He had a specific type of look he was going for, which was involving his weightlifting & MMA past. Our session was only an hour or so, but we got some great images out of it.
