Portraits

I met up with the Rudd family for their Santa Cruz family portrait session at Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz.  This was the second time I had been to Natural Bridges and the first time doing family portraits there.

We started off our session at the path leading to where the Monarch Butterflies hang out during parts of the winter.  There was a nice wood path that we followed for a short distance.  We did some family portraits there in addition to some candid/fun ones of the kids playing around.

I was contacted to photograph this birthday party at the Fandorin restaurant on the waterfront in Burlingame.  The event was great and there was tons of chances for some candid as well as family photographs.  The birthday girl was surprised by the fact it was a surprise party, as well as there was a couple groups of people that flew in for the event.

The beginning of the night we all hung out and waited for the birthday girl to arrive.  Then we all sat down to eat tons and tons of food in addition to listening to the speeches and toasts that was given.  A slideshow was also shown with images of the birthday girl when she was younger.

After dinner had finished most of the group headed out to the dance floor where I was able to get some great candids of people dancing to a live band.
