This was an international engagement session.  If I remember the story correctly, Laura is from Brazil, and now lives in Canada.  Steven is from Canada and is out in the Bay Area for work temporarily.  Our paths collided at Gray Whale Cove Beach in Pacifica.  Images by the Bay Area Engagement Photographer Scott Mosher.

We all came to the beach expecting the nice valley weather we had been having, which was around 70-80 degrees.  Driving through Pacifica it was nice and warm, but once I got out of the tunnel on Hwy 1 I was greeted with fog, clouds, cold, and A LOT of wind.  When I mean a lot of wind, I’m talking wind that blows the sand so hard it scraps your skin.  During our engagement session on the beach we were able to capture a variety of images from climbing rocks, laying in the sand, and me getting nice & dirty.  When I pulled up to the parking lot and got out of my car at In n Out burger after I shook my pants and  I swear half the beach sand came out.

Images by the San Jose Engagement Photographer Scott Mosher.  I had the chance to photograph Sabrina & Randall for their engagement portraits in the Alviso & the Downtown San Jose areas.    It worked out perfect since I was looking for a couple to try some ideas out, and they were in need of some engagement photos.

We started off their engagement portrait session at the Alviso Marina/County Park.  We walked around a few different areas both on the dirt paths and on the boardwalks.  After a little while there we headed over to the Marina for some final engagement photos on the marina itself before heading out to Downtown San Jose for the remainder of their session.

In Downtown San Jose we ended up going to the Plaza de Cesar Chavez and the Academy of Arts building.

After I talked on the phone with Stephanie about their wedding and the things they had planned I knew they were going to be a fun couple.  We started off the engagement session at the old Forbes Mill in Los Gatos.  We both mentioned the irony that Stephanie and I have lived in the South Bay our entire life but have never been inside.  After spending a little bit of time at the mill we headed out to St Joseph Open Space for a few minutes to get a few scenic portraits of them.  We had great light and nice green grass to work with.

Once we finished in the hills we headed into downtown Los Gatos for our last location and a change of clothes.  We made this location our more formal location while the other was our casual locations.

I had the chance to head out with Brian MacStay of Brian MacStay Photography, who is also a Pleasanton engagement photographer.  This was my second chance to work with him and again we had a great time.

We got to the Mitchell Katz Winery in Pleasanton, CA to photograph Chealsea & Zacks engagement photos.  When we arrived we found out they were closed for the day, but they allowed us to walk around and photograph the couple.  To see more images, check out Brians website for the full set!

Short but very fun, thats the only way I can think of to describe this engagement session.  I’m stoked to be photographing their wedding in August.  They’ve got TONS of cool stuff planned for it.  We spent a little over an hour in Los Gatos walking around taking photographs.

The Mount Timpanogos Temple and the park next to it is a great place for engagement photos.  We took Aimee & Jacobs engagement photos at the park next to the Mount Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, UT.  This may be close to a record of the time between when Aimee & Jacob got engaged to having their engagement photos taken.  Jacob proposed on 2/23 and we did their engagement photos on 2/26.  Out of all the engagement sessions I’ve done, this was by far the coldest.  They were troopers though even as I had them sit on a cold rocky ledge leaning against cold metal slabs

We spent about two hours walking around, climbing trees, doing handstands, and doing whatever else we could to stay warm.  And yes, I mean doing handstands literally as you will see.
