After not going to the Japanese Friendship Gardens for any portrait sessions I’ve been there I think 5 times in the past few months!
I photographed the Marshall family last year at Alamaden Lake Park in San Jose and this time we decided on a change of venue. We headed out to the Japanese Friendship Gardens and were lucky nobody else was really there, so we had the place to ourselves for a couple hours for their family portrait session.

I’ve known the Gardners for I don’t know how long. Their oldest son and me caused trouble during our high school years and after. We decided on the Japanese Friendship Gardens in San Jose for their family portraits. I’ve been here a few times and the park (and the one behind it) are starting to grow on me. As a bonus I get to bring the wife & kids with me and they go play around at Happy Hollow while I’m off working
