I was asked to second shoot this wedding with Sam Hassas, who is also a San Francisco CA wedding photographer.  My day started in San Mateo at their house photographing the guys getting ready.  After taking their photos for a while we headed over to the church which was also in San Mateo for the ceremony.

After that I got to re learn how to drive a stick shift.  I drove one throughout high school but only 3-4 times after.  So I got to remember how while driving up hwy 280 & 19th street in San Francisco.  Oh goody.  I only had to use the E brake trick once though, and I only stalled it once.

We went to a few places in San Francisco for some bridal party photos, including the Palace of Fine Arts and the California Palace of the Legion of Honor.  After spending some time there we headed out to the Yank Sing restaurant in downtown San Francisco for the reception.

I really enjoyed photographing this wedding.  Even though it was in December, we had perfect weather up at the Oakland LDS Temple.  The wedding was attended by their close friends & family so it was a small intimate affair.  We spent a couple hours photographing the couple around the Temple grounds.  Thanks to the grooms dad I learned a couple new spots to take photographs at  Photos done by the Oakland LDS Temple photographer, Scott Mosher Photography

When it comes to fun weddings, this one was in my top group of favorite weddings that I’ve photographed.  The wedding was held at the San Jose Capital Club in downtown San Jose.  I had a very hard time picking & choosing which ones go up on the blog, so there will be a bit more than usual.

Since I sprained my knee a couple weeks before the wedding, I decided to bring a second shooter with me to the wedding on Sunday.  I knew I was going to be walking around a lot that day and I didn’t want to take the chance of having it go out on me after working for 2 days previously.  BIG thanks to Patrick O’Connor for coming out from the North Bay to help out.

The wedding on this day was held at the Hotel Los Gatos in Los Gatos, California.  Video was done by Blue Moon Productions.

Saturday I was back at the house for the traditional Muslim wedding ceremony.  After the ceremony we headed over to the Golden Peacock restaurant in Hayward.  There we enjoyed some great food, lots of dancing and other fun stuff.  It was also my second day shooting on “Island Time”, which means “We’ve scheduled the event for 4pm, but we really won’t start until we’re ready”.  I really enjoyed it since it meant everyone was relaxed and really enjoying their time that was spent with the couple.

The reception was held at the Golden Peacock banquet hall in Hayward, CA.

Wow, I really don’t know where to start in describing the fun I had at this wedding.  I mean seriously, getting to photograph the same bride for 3 days straight in 3 different outfits, and the groom for 2 days and 2 different outfits?  Did I mention the food and hospitality of both families was fantastic?  I could go on and on for a pretty long while of all the different stuff about this wedding that made it so memorable.

We started off on Friday at Zakia’s sisters house in Hayward.  There she had the Henna Party and enjoyed being with her friends & family.

I was asked to assist one of my good friends at a wedding he was photographing at the LDS Salt Lake City Temple in Salt Lake City, UT.  In addition to going out there for it, my wife & I made the decision that I would take Amtrak out there and bring my 3 y/o son to both give my wife a break (and a few days to scrapbook in peace) and for my son to visit his grandparents & cousins who live in Utah now.

The weather was interesting, to say the least.  The wedding was at 3pm, and at 3pm the thunder, rain, and wind started.  It rained pretty good until about 3:45 when the couple came out of the Temple.  Then we had some pretty good wind, but no rain and a little bit of sunshine.  It gave us some opportunities for a wide variety of images.

The wedding was held in the early afternoon, and we spent an hour or so wandering the grounds with the couple, then we headed out to Frida Bistro in Salt Lake City for the reception.

This was one of my favorite shoots this year.  I had met Zakia a few months ago, and due to scheduling conflicts our shoot kept getting pushed back.  So we were all looking forward to finally getting it done.  I met Brent the day of the shoot, and we all piled into the car withe Zakia’s mom and the maid of honor.

I hadn’t been to the Presidio since I was in probably elementary school.  Well scratch that, I hadn’t gotten out of the car at The Presidio San Francisco since I was in elementary school.  The last time I was there was when I was out at a big band dance (with the future maid of honors brother) and we got lost at 1am in San Francisco and wandered through the Presidio.

We were expecting nice warm weather like we had in San Jose, but it turns out nature decided to give us 50-something degree temps, a little fog, and lots of wind. We headed out to a few locations and had a great time out there.  I’m really looking forward to photographing this wedding in a couple months.

This is one of my favorites that I’ve photographed this year.  Once we got to this location I saw another couple on a different spot and knew what I wanted to do with couple.

I was listening to U2′s song “Beautiful Day” on my drive home after finishing photographing their wedding, and it reminded me of how perfect the day was.  Last weekend we were stuck with rain all weekend, and for this weekend I was expecting the normal CA June heat.  Turns out we got perfect temps (maybe a little bit on the warm side) and a nice breeze up at the Oakland LDS Temple for Ariane & Nathans sealing.

The happy couple had a fair amount of friends/family up there waiting for them, and we got to spend a couple hours up there photographing on the grounds before heading out to downtown Willow Glen for some photos before the reception.  After that little session, we headed back to the reception, which was held in her grandparents backyard.  They did an AWSOME job transforming the backyard into a wedding reception state.

I had the chance to assist Sam Hassas at this wedding for Genesista & Vicente.  The wedding was an intimate gathering with close friends & family of the couple attending.  We first photographed them at their hotel, then off to the church, and the finally at the reception in San Leandro.
